Dr. Bastos received her DMD degree in 2006 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 2011 she was awarded his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (Rutgers Dental School).
Dr. Bastos worked for 8 years at Monmouth Medical Family Health Center where she comprehensively treated a diverse patient population using a multi-disciplinary approach. She is currently an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), New Jersey Dental Association (NJDA), and Monmouth and Ocean County Dental Society (MOCDS).
Dr. Bastos has been teaching the dental residents during their General Practice Residency (GPR) at the Monmouth Medical Center, in Long Branch, NJ since 2015. She is passionate about dentistry and loves to improve patients' smiles.
Dr. Bastos was voted NJ Top Dentist in 2021 and Monmouth County Top Dentist in 2022 by her peers.
In her spare time she likes to spend time with her husband and 3 children.
She is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
Dr. Carlos M. Martín Pedomo, is a general dentist with over 10 years of experience in the dental field. He began his career in Cuba and Colombia and later earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in the United States. He also worked as a dental hygienist in Florida and New Jersey, which deepened his passion for prevention and comprehensive care.
He has advanced training and experience in cosmetic dentistry and surgery, which allows him to provide patients with safe and modern solutions that enhance both function and aesthetics. His mission is to deliver high-quality dental care using the latest technology, while always keeping a human and compassionate approach. Having started from the bottom, I truly understand my patients’ needs and strive to support them in achieving a healthy, confident smile.
Dr. Mary Ann Halim is a dedicated and compassionate dentist committed to providing excellence in patient care. Born and raised in Canada, Dr. Halim moved to New Jersey in 2014, where she pursued her passion for dentistry. She graduated magna cum laude from Rutgers University in New Brunswick in 2019, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Psychology.
Following her undergraduate studies, Dr. Halim continued her education at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree in 2023. To further enhance her skills, she completed a one-year General Practice Residency (GPR) at Monmouth Medical Center, gaining extensive clinical experience and refining her expertise in diverse areas of dental care.
Dr. Halim's approach to dentistry is characterized by her genuine care for her patients and her commitment to the highest standards of practice. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys painting and spending quality time with her husband and family. Her diverse interests and strong family values complement her compassionate approach to dental care, ensuring that every patient receives personalized and attentive treatment.
Laysa was born in Brasília, Brazil, and moved to the United States at the age of 13. Since then, she has proudly called the U.S. home. Her love for connecting with others shines through both in her personal life and in her career in dentistry. As a dental assistant, she is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable in the chair and loves being part of a team that makes a difference in people’s oral health and confidence.
Outside of work, Laysa enjoys traveling, spending quality time with her family, and caring for her beloved pets. She finds great joy in meeting new people, learning about different cultures, and sharing experiences that bring people together. She believes that a confident smile has the power to transform not only how people look, but how they feel. She finds true joy in seeing patients smile with confidence and believes that a healthy, beautiful smile can brighten every aspect of life.
Sam has a degree in Psychology because she is passionate about helping people to better themselves. Being able to work in the dentistry industry offered her the perfect opportunity to continue helping people in a different way. Seeing the doctors build back confidence and the joy of smiling to each patient. She comes from a family of dentists, but never thought of the area as her new passion before.
In her spare time she practices slacklining. Which is balancing or walking on a suspended length of flat webbing like a rope. She can also spend hours playing video game.

Nubia is our dental assistant, she is excellent at keeping patients at ease and helping Dr. Isabel Bastos and Dr. Chris Garofalo provide the best dental care and smiles to patients. She has been working in the medical field for 8 years and is excited to join our dental team. She is in charge of sterilizing our instruments and keeping our office the cleanest around. She is a wife (happily married for 28 years!) and mother of 2 beautiful children. Fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
Danie is our dental assistant, she is very efficient and does everything with passion. She ensures our rooms are clean and ready, while keeping patients comfortable and at ease.

Born in Brazil, Isabel moved with her family to New Jersey when she was only 9 years old. She is trilingual, fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish. Isabel has been in the dental field for over 15 years she started as a dental assistant where she quickly became passionate about dentistry. Her passion inspired her to further her education in dental hygiene. She graduated from Rutgers School of Health Related Professionals in 2013. Isabel and her husband have two daughters and a dog. Aside from spending time with her family and close friends. Isabel loves to travel, she believes that traveling takes us out of our comfort zones and inspires us to see, taste and try new things.
Lizeth Rios, RDH, is originally from Long Branch and earned her degree in Dental Hygiene from Rutgers School of Health Professions in 2018. Raised by Mexican and Puerto Rican parents, she is fluent in Spanish and enjoys connecting with patients from diverse backgrounds. With a gentle touch and friendly approach, she helps patients feel at ease while supporting lifelong oral health. Outside of work, she loves going to concerts and spending time with her dog, Batman.
